Collection: Bed Frame

Bed frames

A bed frame is the full structure of the bed: headboard, sides and the support your mattress sits on. We stock more than 20 bed frames, and you can see the range at our Morrinsville showroom, from simple white and black frames to storage beds and a pull-out guest bed. Prices start around $410, and many are made by Dreamland.

Bed frame or bed base: what's the difference?

A bed base is a plain platform that sits under the mattress, and you add a headboard if you want one. A bed frame is a complete piece of furniture with the headboard and sides built in. Frames tend to look more finished. Bases are usually cheaper and easier to move.

Which bed frames do you have?

  • Dreamland frames: Tokoroa, Reefton, Westhaven, Orewa, Theo, Mila, Jack and Daisy
  • Storage and space-saving: Newtown Storage Bed Frame (Dreamland), Amora Queen Bed Frame with Bookcase, and the Havelock Guest Bed (Dreamland)
  • Matching bedroom ranges: Falcon, Finland, Amora, Tyler, Tokyo, Parker, Perth, Kaimai and Kelly, which pair with matching bedsides and dressers
  • Budget-friendly: Tokyo, Catty (white), Parker and Perth (black)

How do I choose the right bed frame?

  1. Measure the room. Leave about 60 cm of walking space around the bed where you can.
  2. Match the mattress size. Check your mattress against our bed size guide. A queen mattress needs a queen frame.
  3. Think about storage. In a small room, a storage frame or a frame with a bookcase headboard can replace a chest of drawers.
  4. Check the height. Higher frames are easier to get in and out of, which matters for older people and anyone with sore knees.
  5. Plan the whole room. Buying from one range (for example Falcon or Finland) means the bedside and dresser will match.
